A:

Yes, both of these options will be offered during the registration process.

Q: Who can register for Level 3 Qualified Data Collector Training?

A:

Pre-approval is required and is based on the current ability of a trainee to perform the requisite sampling and laboratory methods and identify fish and/or macroinvertebrates to the required taxonomic level (species level for fish, lowest practicable level for macroinvertebrates, typically genus/species).

Q: What do I need to bring?

A:

Because it varies by course, this information as well as complete course instructions are available when you view your order. Simply go to “My Account”, and click on view.

Q: Do I need to provide my own transportation?

A:

Yes - we ask that course participants provide their own transportation to and from field sites. However, we encourage car pooling and will make every attempt to minimize the number of vehicles traveling to the field sites.

Q: When will I receive my completion certificate?

A:

Most will be provided on the final day of your course.

Q: How do I receive notification of future classes?

A:

When you create an account, you will be automatically added to our list for future notifications. You can remove yourself from this list at any time.

A:

Yes, this information is available here.

Q: Can I get a receipt for payment?

A:

Yes, this will be provided to the person making the payment.

Q: What if I forget my account password?

A:

On the top menu bar, click on the "Login" button. On the login screen, click on "Forgot Password" and follow the prompts.

Q: What types of payment do you accept?

A:

Through our online registration, we accept all major credit cards, PayPal and checks.

Q: When will I receive my test results for the Qualified Data Collector testing?

A:

For Level 2, you should receive your results within 4 to 6 weeks. For Level 3, you will receive your results 6 to 8 weeks after you have completed and submitted the self testing requirements.

Q: If I can't attend can someone else attend in my place?

A:

Yes, as long as the person who made payment/paid for the course sends an email message from the email account on record to info@mbieducation.com prior to the start time of the first day of the course. The e-mail must indicate the name, e-mail and phone number of the new participant.

Q: Are meals or refreshments provided at MBI or at the field sites?

A:

On classroom days, we will provide some snacks, coffee and/or water. Participants can bring food to eat on the premises during the lunch break or travel to one of the recommended nearby eating establishments and purchase a lunch. On field days we encourage attendees to pack a lunch, although sometimes we are able to stop at fast food restaurants located on or near our planned route or destinations. Lunch plans for field days will be announced during the classroom sessions of the courses.
